The free and virtual School of Art concept was conceived to put together kids and adolescents from all over Lebanon and bring them classes to promote their mental health and coping skills. The courses are free of charge and are delivered by competent and good-hearted teachers who responded to the need and are delivering their sessions as part of the gift economy and free of charge.
Programs are organized and managed by us and in collaboration with Ayadina Association, a well-established NGO that has been in the field of art education and that brought joy and happiness to hundreds of boys and girls for over 18 years now in the neighborhood of Nabaa Area in Beirut. In this area, kids face many hardships and challenges and do not have access to art education, something essential for their development and flourishing. The plan is to benefit from available free meeting technology to spread joy and culture to kids and teens everywhere in Lebanon and contribute to developing a happy and peaceful society.
Learn. Share. Enjoy.
Mission, Vision, Values
Our mission is to spread joy and peace in Lebanon through the delivery of quality art education and reach students everywhere in the country. The pandemic, compounded with the economic collapse and poverty, confined the children and adolescents to stay at home and undergo a lot of stress and hardships. We thought we should do so something to bring them solace and engage them with capable teachers and with each other through art.
ArtLebanon is part of “DAGPA for Human and Community Development” association, filed under 7939/WDB 2021 on 01/06/2021, Lebanon.

The business model – Gift economy
We believe in the gift economy, the free and collective contribution of everybody, teachers, staff, and donors of instruments and cash to work together to pull a worthwhile project. Our projects are low-budget where the operating expenditures are kept minimal and under strict control to cater to only what is necessary and cover website development and maintenance, class administration, and reach-out campaign costs. Extra funds will be shared with other NGOs that offer art education or mental and physical health support programs to teens in Lebanon.
Partnerships and collaborations
We are proud to collaborate with Ayadina Association to learn from their experience in Art education and investigate areas of further cooperation. Ayadina Association was kind enough to help us organize the first sessions and provide expertise.

Mindful Lebanon is another initiative that targets general population, students and now parents at home, especially moms, delivering mindful breathing and other exercises online for free. The aim is to help parents alleviate mental ailments such as depression and anxiety and better cope with stress to cater kindly to the needs of their children.

We are proud to ally with Salim Saad Cultural Center in Ain Zhalta. The center has been established in 2007 to serve Lebanon and the region and is run by Dr. Prof. Salim Saad, a pioneer and emeritus professor in Art and Culture Education with many published research and books. Prof. Saad will guide through the process of expansion and help us establish the right programs and provide expertise and support.

After attending just one session with the new students in the Ballet class, I was motivated to join in and dance with them. I felt so uplifted we could bring joy to all, including the teacher and myself.
